Old Street & Hoxton EC1 EC2 N1
Fashionable part of town on the edge of the City with several options, but few recommendations. Nearby areas: City, Angel, Aldgate.Recommended pubs

Prince Arthur 49 Brunswick Place
N1 6EBThe hanging baskets outside shows that someone cares, and sure enough inside there's a huge oche and a regularly used dart board. Two teams play out of here, and although it may shut early if there's nobody drinking, it's a throwback worth spending some time in.
-
Wenlock Arms 26 Wenlock Road
N1 7TAFine local pub complete with grumpy barman - threatened with closure in 2010 and demolition in 2011. The board was partly obscured by a door on last visit, and darts is not the best reason for visiting this excellent old boozer, but don't let that stop you passing by for a quick throw. Planning permission to demolish the pub was rejected in October 2011.
-
Angel 73 City Road
EC1Y 1BDTwo boards upstairs, plus one in the outside smoking area, but generally this place could do with a freshen up.
-
Griffin 93 Leonard Street
EC2A 4RDFine for a game in the day, but the table in front of the board becomes a DJ booth at night!
-
Old Fountain 3 Baldwin Street
EC1V 9NUA smashing little boozer, but with an oche that is usually covered by chairs and tables, there's no guarantee of getting on. Has a league team.
-
Royal Star 220 City Road
EC1V 2PNPerfectly ok for a throw or two, if a little rough around the edges. As well as the board in the bar closest to City Road, out back there’s a function room where the team plays. Was the only player to lose my singles on my first and only appearance here.

Stag's Head 55 Orsman Road
N1 5RALooks post-nuclear from the outside, but there was a gig on during the visit, and the place looked like a very miniscule Woodstock. As a result the board was unplayable, but this may not always be the case.
