Kings Cross & Holborn WC1
Several places to play, but since the closure of the Kings Arms in June 2011, nowhere worth travelling for. Nearby areas: Angel, Clerkenwell & Farringdon, City.Recommended pubs
-
Cittie of Yorke 22 High Holborn
WC1V 6BSRecommended mainly as being a beautiful pub, rather than for its' darting glory. The board tucked away at the back of the main upstairs bar appears to regularly come and go, but it was back in situ in February 2011. It's in a quiet but very dark alcove on the back of the fire exit door - you may not be able to see where your darts go, but at least you'll be safe in an emergency. Update courtesy of Stephen Holmes.

Carpenters Arms 105 Kings Cross Road
WC1X 9LRThe board is somewhat unnervingly on a stage so if you like a clandestine game of darts this isn’t for you. (I once started a cup match here with a three-dart total of 3, and was promptly dropped). It all feels a bit rough 'n ready.
-
Queens Head 66 Acton Street
WC1X 9NBAn old locals boozer on a one-way main road but with the advantage of a covered smoking area adjacent to the board at the back of the pub.
-
Rugby Tavern 19 Great James Street
WC1N 3ESThe board is totally inaccessible when the pub is at all busy, hidden away behind a rugby-themed darts cabinet and a couple of tables. Likely to be fine during the day, and on earlier weeknights. Don't even think about it if there's rugby on telly.
-
Thornhill Arms 148 Caledonian Road
N1 9RDThe board was taken down during 2009, but was back up again on visit in Spring 2011, albeit blocked by tables and chairs for the majority of the time.? Does a fine fry-up.
